There were 103 fatalities on South Australian roads in 2011 ‐ fifteen fewer than the 118 recorded in 2010 — this represents a 13% reduction. Preliminary South Australia Police (SAPOL) serious injury figures show that serious injuries have also decreased in 2011. Important changes are being proposed for L & P drivers including passenger restrictions, curfews, raising the minimum age for P drivers from 17 to 18 and extending the provisional stage from a minimum 2 years to 3 years.
